The services provided by the Firm include the following:
Conveyancing
The Firm has Solicitors experienced in dealing with all aspects of conveyancing of property and provides a comprehensive conveyancing service. In particular they have the specialist knowledge involved in dealing with New Forest properties where searches in the Atlas of Forest Rights and also dealings with Forestry Commission Licences giving rights over Forest tracks are involved. All conveyancing matters are dealt with by qualified solicitors as we recognise the fact that we are very often dealing with our clients home which is vitally important and no risks can be taken with any aspect of it.
Probate and Wills
The Firm has two Solicitors who are very experienced in dealing with probate and Wills and this part of the practice is increasing steadily. The Firm provides a free service of holding deeds and Wills in safe custody on behalf of clients and has custody of a large number of deed packets and Wills in the office strong room.
Matrimonial
Matrimonial legal services are provided by the Firm. This side of the practice is also increasing steadily as the Firm's reputation for dealing efficiently and sensitively with this work is spreading.
Personal Injury
The Firm provides a service dealing with personal injury claims and has successfully pursued many substantial claims. This area of legal practice is now more specialised than it has been in the past as there are protocols which apply and it is very important that the Solicitor in charge of such matters is up to date with current procedure. This part of legal practice has recently suffered from some bad publicity where businesses have been set up to encourage people to make claims in circumstances where they would not otherwise do so. Employment
All aspects of employment law are covered by the Firm including negotiation and drafting of contracts of employment, grievance and disciplinary procedures and health and safety policies. Advice is given on termination of contracts of employment, compromise agreements and redundancy, and representation is provided for wrongful and unfair dismissal claims in Courts and Industrial Tribunals.
Civil Litigation
A wide variety of civil litigation matters are dealt with by the Firm's Litigation Department which is now headed by a Solicitor Advocate who is qualified to appear in any Court in the Country up to the Court of Appeal and the House of Lords.
Commercial
The commercial work dealt with by the Firm has increased in recent years and is now a substantial part of the Firm's practice. This work consists of the purchase and sale of businesses and limited liability companies, company formations, partnership formations and dissolutions, and commercial conveyancing including the setting up of building estates for developers.
Powers of Attorney
The law relating to Powers of Attorney which now allows enduring powers of attorney is one aspect where current law is very much more satisfactory than in the past. The introduction of Enduring Powers of Attorney has enabled attorneys to continue to manage the affairs people who cannot do this for themselves and even if they become mentally incapable it is now very often unnecessary to make full applications to the Court of Protection where an attorney is acting. We provide an efficient and sensitive service in managing clients' affairs under enduring powers of attorney.
